Itineraries
    • Day 01 (Addis –Mekelle-flight) – Ahmed Ela) 220Km

      The drive takes you to Ahmed Ela passing through the western escarpment of the Great Rift valley, Ahmed Ela Dallol.  Camping in Ahmed Ela with local beds and open air.

      Day 02 (Full day visit of Dallol depression that includes the geysers, fumaroles, and traditional salt working area)

      Full day, visit of all the Dallol vicinity that includes salt plain working area, Lake Asale (The Salt Lake), Dallol active colorful hot brine springs and fumaroles’ deposits of sulfur and phosphorous and salt dooms. Camping in Ahmed Ela with Local bed and Open Air.

       

      Day 03 (Ahmed Ela – Erta Ale)

      (Drive from Ahmed Ela to Erta Ale through the desert or passing through Abala Mountain)

      After dismantling the camping and having breakfast, the drive continues to Mount Erta Ale passing through Sand Dooms and a recent flow of lava.

      . Camping around the ridge of the Lava Lake on the Floor with Mats and mattresses.

      Day 04

      Another day at Erta Ale Lava Lake and overnight camping around the Caldera

      Day 05 (Descend down from Erta Ale and drive Afdera)

      Early morning wake-up call, we start to descend down to the Base camp where our cars are parked and upon arrival, we will have some minutes rest and breakfast. Overnight camping at Afdera

      Day 06

      Drive to Semera town enjoying the Lava flow and other geological phenomena around the new asphalt road. Overnight Hotel in Semera

      Day 07

      Drive to Awash Nation National park where 812 Sq. Km in area, the Awash National Park is located 225Km east of Addis Abeba.  Overnight Genet Hotel

      Day 08

      Early morning game view drives in the National park and precedes come back to Addis through the Ethiopian Middle Rift valley.
